It actually runs on batteries; the USB connection lets you replace your computer's number pad with it! I must admit that since getting it, I've opted for paying for online orders with a credit card over PayPal, just so I could click my number into the text field. :P
I didn't realise that the calculator is USB powered! Amazing :)
